Bikini Prep Diaries #2 | Podcasts For Motivation + Getting Back On Track


Hello :-) so last week wasn't so great for me, i ate rubbish food and didn't go to the gym all week, i just lost motivation. Also because the show is still quite far away i allowed myself to believe that i don't need to be that strict yet. That wasn't good for me tho cos then i got way to relaxed with it all and fell of track completely, i'm not exactly in great shape either so i need all the head start i can get! (picture above is of me when i WAS in good shape so it's not a current photo, just to clarify!)

It's ok tho cos i have realised if i don't start putting in the hard work now and being more strict then i might not get the physique i want. If i did start knuckling down now then i could look so much better than the last time i was on stage and that is the goal for me, i am in competition with myself!

This week i've been doing well so far and actually was so excited for the gym yesterday and today, i just uploaded Bikini Prep Ep:3 to my youtube channel, check it out > HERE < if you like, i shared a gym workout and how i plan my workouts so let me know if you do watch :-)


So i had been doing a lot of things to try get my motivation back which included listening to podcasts, something i'm doing more of lately. I have found a few that i do really love and then still have quite a few i've followed but yet to listen too.

So the first one i found through watching a youtube video when i searched 'How to stop binge eating' The podcast is called Project Life Mastery with Stefan James. He also has a motivating type voice and makes you wanna change your life for the better. Another podcast is called Motivate Yourself with Richard Nicholls. Another one to make you motivated and to wanna live an amazing and successful life. The last one is called How To Start Living Show (formerly How To Quit Working) and as you can tell from the title, it's another great one for the same reasons. I like to listen to these in the morning before my day starts so it sets me off with the right mindset and i can then put my mind into action and have a good day, also as i walk to the gym is a great time to listen. One time i wouldn't recommend tho is right before bed, I'm guilty of this! I don't know why i did it quite a few times cos all it did was give me a buzz and fill my head with excitement and ideas and i couldn't do anything but TRY and go to sleep, which was then hard to do!

Afternoon Tea at Langshott Manor Hotel








Me and my friend went for Afternoon Tea today, it was really lovely catching up with her
We had the whole afternoon from 1-5pm. It was a nice hotel with a pretty garden to look out on, which it would look really lovely if the sun was out but today was quite windy and raining for the most of it. I had never been for an afternoon tea before but i really enjoyed it and i do love a scone with jam and cream. My friends opinion was that this one wasn't as good as some others she had been to before. For me, i didn't have any to compare to so i thought it was alright but then i wouldn't rate it really high. We first got to choose the tea we wanted from the menu and we both went for English breakfast tea. After about an hour they then brought out some sandwiches, scones and nibbles for us. So we got 4 slices of sandwich each, can't remember the exact filling but one was with egg, one chicken, they had salmon and other one was with cucumber. If i am being honest the bread was bit dry, i think they make the food in the morning so by time you get it it's not as fresh. We had one scone each with one little pot of jam and cream to share and then a few little nibbles on top where a few of them i wasn't too keen on?

So the price for deluxe afternoon tea was £21 per person. We only wanted tea so we didn't need to pay extra for other option which was exactly the same but just has champagne included which was £30 per person. They did add a £5.25 service charge too which i wasn't expecting and when your not rolling in money that service charge is kinda annoying,lol. My friend is getting married beginning of June tho and i wanted to treat her so i did pay for the whole lot :-) The service there was good, nothing that stood out to me but nothing bad either, they asked quite a few times if everything was ok. It was a quiet setting without music and we were one of the first to arrive and it didn't really get very busy. If it was on the weekend i guess it would be busier and plus the prices are actually a bit more if you book on the weekend.

I really did enjoy today tho and wanna try more places now for afternoon teas, it's definitely something nice to do for a day out :-) I hope you liked this post today, i just got excited to share this as i don't get out much so when i do I'm like omg...BLOG POST! lol

Bikini Prep Diaries #1 | Intro, Show, Food and Workouts

Dear Diary...

I have decided to give bikini Prep another go. The competition that I was thinking of doing was UKBFF (United Kingdom bodybuilding & fitness federation) in August and then UFM (Ultimate fitness model) in September.

 


If I don't feel 100% ready tho in August tho I might just do the one in September only. I am doing bikini prep vlogs following my journey as well, if you would like to follow along then check the videos out at LifeWithCarlyC I new I'd wanna compete again at some point this year but new it wouldn't till be the end of the year. I've only ever prepped for a show in April so started straight after Christmas so this is gonna be a new experience being on prep during summer :) I have started to think about this quite early, it won't even be 20 weeks out from the August show until 9th of April. I did wanna start making small changes now tho so I can slowly make progress.

 

I'm not being very strict at all right now but the majority of my weeks are based around calorie intake and macros on fitness pal. If I go over a bit tho or have some extra chocolate, which I have 👌🏞I won't feel bad!☺ I also just want to keep up with the gym at least 4 times a week doing weights and at least add some form of cardio during my week too. Just as I have started this tho I have now caught a cold, typical...but I guess it's kinda a good thing to get it out my system now before I really want to put effort in and focus.  Anyway just thought I'd log in to share my update. I'm looking forward to sharing more of these posts with you so I hope you will enjoy reading them :)

Garnier SkinActive - Pure Active Sensitive | Current Skincare






I have been loving these products from +Garnier Skin Care recently so wanted to share them on my blog today.

These 3 products work really well together and i'm usually quite lazy keeping up with skincare routines, i never stick to them long enough to see if they work but this time i made sure i kept it up. I have been doing this routine for about a month now and haven't used anything else on my skin. I first started it when i was getting quite a few harsh spots around my mouth area and it was only a few days into using these products that i started to notice a difference. And let me just point out, i didn't change anything in my diet either, i was still pigging out on the same amount of chocolate i usually do! :-D You can actually feel these products working tho and i really like how they smell so fresh and make my skin feel so clean :) I do have to say tho, my blemishes haven't completely gone, i would probably put that down to a bad diet tho, good skin does first come from eating good foods. My skin is a lot better tho after using these products tho so i would definitely recommend.

As you can see from the pictures below, the first one taken just before i started using the products (6th Feb 2017) and the second is taken today (10th March 2017)



So let me explain a little more about each product and when i like to use them...

Anti-Blemish Soap-Free GEL WASH

This is the gentle cleanser that deeply cleanses the skin to help remove impurities, dirt and excess sebum without drying out the skin. I use this daily before i go to bed as i like it to remove any last traces of my makeup with it. You just apply the product to wet skin and gently massage in.

Anti-Blemish CLARIFYING TONER

This tightens pores and soothes the skin. I would apply this two times a day with a cotton pad, once in the morning and then again in the evening after i use the gel wash cleanser. I can really feel this product work and i mostly focus on the affected areas. It comes out like a gel like texture which refreshes and soothes the skin.

Anti-Blemish SOOTHING MOISTURISER

This is the last part of my routine which i like to use before bed as i feel that way it has the whole night to really sink in and work on the skin but it's also great as a base for makeup too. It helps to visibly reduce spots and marks on the skin and when i apply this it sinks nicely into the skin, not leaving any residue which i really like.

All 3 products do pretty much the same thing as targeting pores and blemishes and for sensitive skin but using all 3 together will just give you triple the results.

I honestly love this skincare routine at the moment so i would really recommend you try it out if your looking to change yours up or are looking for that spot remedy? I also came up in a big white head by my mouth last week but whilst using this, within 3-4 days it had totally dried up and disappeared, happy days :-) Do you already use these products?
