Pure Elite Competition - Show Day

Earlier this year i had entered my first fitness/bodybuilding competition. It was for Pure Elite and was held at Winter Gardens in Margate, Kent on the 25th April.
They had lots of different categories and i chose to do Bikini and being 5'6 i was in Bikini Tall.

I traveled up the night before and stayed in a Premier Inn. We arrived at the venue for 10am - Athletes registration. We then had a meeting at 11am where they went through the T-Walks and just what to expect from the day. The doors then opened to the public at about 1.30pm.
We first had to all go on stage for a parade and photo. It was then quite a long wait until my category was on. Bikini Short was on stage after the first intervals and then Bikini Tall (my one) straight after.

We had our two coats of tan applied the evening before and had to leave it overnight. On the day we wasn't allowed to shower, we had to keep the tan how it was and we got touch ups if there were any smudges anywhere. Then before we went on stage we had glaze applied. I had my tan done with #ShowTan

I had to borrow a bikini from a girl doing the show as my mine hadn't turned up on time. It came Monday tho, so 2 days after the show!!! Bit annoying but i did like the bikini i borrowed, the colour was gorgeous. Only problem was the bottoms were a little tight but it looked ok still.
I got my original bikini from +Etsy (picture below) I will probably keep this now for my next competition.

Overall Day

I had so much fun and met amazing people. Everyone is so helpful and friendly. I have learnt so much from this competition so i know how to improve better for next time. I was a little nervous stepping on the stage and my lips and legs were shaking a bit but after that i started to relax and got into it a bit more. I know i wasn't in my best shape or had all the confidence i needed to do well but it was a great experience and i can't wait to do it again. Even though the diet and training can be hard i still found the whole experience really fun and challenging and it is the only time in my life i have finally changed my body for the better :-)

Thanks for reading, i did vlog a lot of the prep on my second youtube channel so check them out by clicking here and scrolling down my video's.

I got this from Tesco and it was £45
You can see the video i did on my youtube channel if you want to see the actual product inside.

Pots to go:
These were also from Tesco. They were only £2.50 so i thought why not, a few small pots could come in handy for me.

Brita Water Bottle: Fill & Go
Another Tesco purchase and this was £10
This did come with 4 filters as well. I love filtered water and i liked the look of this bottle so i thought i would get myself a new one :-)

Last but not least: Thermos Lunch Bag
This was £8 from ...TESCO :-)
I thought this would be cool to take on days out. I usually have something i need to keep cool, salad, yogurt, egg..etc The bottom section is perfect size for my tupperware and i thought for £8 i may as well try it out. I have a few days coming up that i am planning to use this for :-)

Well this haul wasn't very long but if you have been reading then thanks for checking it out and i do hope it gave you some ideas or inspiration for some new fitness buys.

Keep Fit & Healthy
:-) :-) :-)

My Top 5 Beauty Products

Here are 5 Beauty Products that i have been loving lately. (March-April 2015)

This self tanner is only £4.99. It's a bargain if you looking for a good but cheap fake tan. You can get this from +Boots UK
I like to leave it on for 2-3 hours then wash it off and it still keeps me looking tanned but it doesn't smell as bad and doesn't come off onto your clothes as easily. ( I did get a brown streak on my bed where i had slept...but other than that it isn't too bad) I don't usually wear fake tan but i am starting to go through a phase...just bored of the ghost look now! :-D
I got this for Christmas and love it. Tangle Teezers have been around a while now but it took me ages to finally get one! You can get these a lot of places and are quite cheap.  I find they do get the tangles out a lot easier and i don't feel they are as damaging to my hair, i don't like my old paddle brush anymore.
I have never looked into buying an body scrub until recently and i found this one which smells amazing and leaves your skin feeling so soft. This was from +Boots UK
I do love +MAC Cosmetics I have re-purchased this a few times and i still love it. It has such a nice coverage and it has a mirror too so great for the handbag to get rid of any shine through the day too.
I haven't found a good mascara in ages until i watched +Zanna van Dijk
Her lashes looked so good and then found out she used this mascara so i thought i would try it out. I then saw that it had a comb type brush which is my favourite type. It just grabs hold of all your lashes, separates them nicely and adds length too. I just love it and i will definitely re-purchase this when it runs out :-)
Check out my #youtube video if you want to see me talk more about these products BeautyWithStyle

Really Tasty Blueberry Muffins - 'My Protein'

These are so DELICIOUS. They are quick & easy to make as well.

I used my protein muffin mix from My Protein, get 15% discount off when you use code CCXX15 at checkout. You can shop the muffin mix i used HERE , they give easy instructions on the back of the packet.

You simply add

๐Ÿ”น100g of the protein muffin mix (383 calories)
๐Ÿ”น100ml of (semi-skimmed) milk (50 calories)
๐Ÿ”นTwo table spoons of coconut oil. I measured the oil out to be 54g. (414 calories)
๐Ÿ”นBlueberries, I added about 50g (32 calories)

Makes 6 muffins

147 calories per serving

Protein - 7.7g
Carbs - 8.8g
Fat - 9.4g

I mixed the milk and muffin mix together and melted the coconut oil and then mixed that in too. I lined the cases with a very small amount of oil to avoid any sticking to the cases. (I did it just to be on the safe side but I'm sure they would have been fine) I also used rubber re-useable cases as I find these are better and the muffins were easily removed.
I poured the mix into the cases leaving a small gap at the top and popped a few blueberries in each one.

I pre heated the oven to gas mark 5/190c and cooked the muffins for 12-15 minutes until golden brown.

They turned out great and tasted amazing :-) these are so yummy, I really recommend to try them. You could try them without blueberries or add something different. You could add cocoa powder to give it a chocolate taste, chocolate chunks or you could add a bit of peanut butter into the middle, I bet that would taste really nice :-)

If you make these I would love to see the results and know what you think of them. Let me know in the comments if you do try them or tweet me any pictures @carlyccxx :-)

Healthy Breakfast/Snack - Asparagus & Eggs

So it's Easter and there are so many chocolate eggs around ๐Ÿ˜ณ๐Ÿ˜‹ so tempting!!

But if you are trying to be healthy I found a really nice snack idea. Would also be great for breakfast ๐Ÿ˜„

In this picture I was measuring out the amounts I had so I cooked 25g of Asparagus, 2 poached eggs and 10g of medium chedder cheese. Also add some black pepper if you like.
This was only 203 calories and made a great snack. If you have it for breakfast I would say have a bit more of each to keep you full for longer ๐Ÿ‘Œ

Let me know if you do try this. I personally find it one of my favourite meal options right now. Just because it's Easter you can still have alternative eggs to chocolate ones and keep it healthy ;-)

I am training for a bikini/fitness competition right now so I am trying so hard to stay away from the chocoate eggs....until the comp is over lol I will then treat myself a bit :-)
