Baking Chocolate Oat Cookies - Healthy Recipe

Me and my (now ex) boyfriend decided to make some Oat Cookies but a healthier version, gluten and sugar free.
We hadn't made them before but they turned out really good and tasted amazing :-) To know they are not as bad for you makes it even better so i definitely had to share this with you!

These are really quick and easy to make and we are baking some more this weekend as a treat to eating healthy all week :-)

Ingredients // and links to shop the products

  • Self Raising Flour (Gluten Free) - 50g // shop here
  • Oats - 75g // shop here
  • Total Sweet 100% Natural xylitol (replacing normal sugar)  - 75g // shop here
  • Chocolate/Caramel Protein Powder - 25g // shop here
  • Cinnamon - 1 Teaspoon // shop here
  • 85% Dark Chocolate (As darker is healthier) // shop here


  1. Preheat the oven to Gas Mark 4 / 180 C 
  2. Mix up flour, oats, sugar, protein powder and cinnamon into a mixing bowl 
  3. Heat up the butter, oil, milk and honey in a saucepan 
  4. Once ingredients in the saucepan are heated through, add them into the pre-mixed dry ingredients and mix up well
  5. Shape into balls onto a baking tray and press down with the palm of your hand to make the round shapes, use a knife to press against and neaten the edges, should make 8 large biscuits
  6. Bake in a preheated oven for 10-15 minutes or until golden brown
  7. Once out of the oven and cooled down, it is then optional to melt chocolate on top
  8. I just re made these cookies today (31st August 2016) and I used chocolate brownie protein powder instead. I made them a lot neater than I had in the pictures on here :) I would definitely recommend these as a heathy treat. I had two tonight with a cup of hot chocolate!

These biscuits are 195kcal each with 16g fat, 23g carbs and 5g Protein by replacing flour with more protein.
