Daisy Nail Art - Summer Nails

I felt like doing my nails summery and came up with this Daisy design.

I am not the neatest at doing this and it took a while getting it right which is why i decided to do the daisy's only on two nails :-) Also do excuse my cuticles and stumpy nails...they are bad i know :-/ lol

These are the products/items that i used:

These i bought on Ebay. Just searched Nail Art pens and got loads all together for quite a cheap price. These are not great but they are ok if you are on a budget.
This is a Morgan Taylor Nail Polish in the colour - Nautically Inclined.
I used the ends of the brush to make the pollen of the daisy. I had the short brush for the petals and the long one for the stripes. I got these from college when i did my course in Nail Services.

Healthy Green Smoothie Recipe

I have started to see Green Smoothies about lately. Mostly from looking on Instagram, Twitter and Youtube. Being a smoothie fan myself i really wanted to try this.
Smoothies are a fun way to keep healthy and are definitely great for the summer. There are so many ingredients you can chuck into a smoothie so there is always something for everyone :-)

I did a strawberry smoothie post on my blog earlier this year, check it out:
carlyccxx.blogspot.com/2014/01/healthy-smoothie-snack-idea.html

To make this smoothie i had screen shot a photo. I can't remember where i found it but i would guess it was from Twitter and it came up on my news feed at some point.

I got this already frozen pack of pineapple and mango mix from Tesco which was nice and quick. I only used half of the Avacado.
I used this small glass to measure things out

This makes enough for two glasses so i stored some in my shaker for later

Chilling in the garden with my Green Smoothie :-) Happy Days!

In my smoothie i chose to have
  • Avacado (which i only used half)
  • Kale
  • Coconut milk
  • Water
  • Pineapple
  • Mango
  • Ice

I first put in the Kale and the Avacado. Then added on top the coconut milk and water. (1 glass of each)
I blended this together well until i could not see anymore bits.
I then added in the pineapple and mango mix which i did two glasses of and then blended again.
As it such a hot day today.. currently 28 degrees, whilst i am sitting in the garden writing this and it is 6pm!! That is crazy for England weather! I love it! :-) Anyway back to the point...because it SO hot i added in some ice cubes to blend up as well. This gave it a nice slushy consistency.

I was hesitant to try a green smoothie as you add in the leafy greens, i thought this would make it taste weird.
I was wrong! It tasted really good and i recommend people to try it. It is healthy for you too, giving you nutrients and good taste. As it such nice weather too, it is the perfect time to get on the smoothie making :-)

Let me know if you do try it, tweet to me your pictures if you do @carlyccxx

I uploaded a video on to my youtube making a smoothie which is like the one i made here just without the avacado. Check it out: Healthy Green Smoothie

Baking Chocolate Oat Cookies - Healthy Recipe

Me and my (now ex) boyfriend decided to make some Oat Cookies but a healthier version, gluten and sugar free.
We hadn't made them before but they turned out really good and tasted amazing :-) To know they are not as bad for you makes it even better so i definitely had to share this with you!

These are really quick and easy to make and we are baking some more this weekend as a treat to eating healthy all week :-)

Ingredients // and links to shop the products

  • Self Raising Flour (Gluten Free) - 50g // shop here
  • Oats - 75g // shop here
  • Total Sweet 100% Natural xylitol (replacing normal sugar)  - 75g // shop here
  • Chocolate/Caramel Protein Powder - 25g // shop here
  • Cinnamon - 1 Teaspoon // shop here
  • 85% Dark Chocolate (As darker is healthier) // shop here

Method

  1. Preheat the oven to Gas Mark 4 / 180 C
  2. Mix up flour, oats, sugar, protein powder and cinnamon into a mixing bowl
  3. Heat up the butter, oil, milk and honey in a saucepan
  4. Once ingredients in the saucepan are heated through, add them into the pre-mixed dry ingredients and mix up well
  5. Shape into balls onto a baking tray and press down with the palm of your hand to make the round shapes, use a knife to press against and neaten the edges, should make 8 large biscuits
  6. Bake in a preheated oven for 10-15 minutes or until golden brown
  7. Once out of the oven and cooled down, it is then optional to melt chocolate on top
  8. I just re made these cookies today (31st August 2016) and I used chocolate brownie protein powder instead. I made them a lot neater than I had in the pictures on here :) I would definitely recommend these as a heathy treat. I had two tonight with a cup of hot chocolate!

These biscuits are 195kcal each with 16g fat, 23g carbs and 5g Protein by replacing flour with more protein.

Let me know if you try these yourself and what you thought about them?

My Bedroom Tour - Interior Ideas

Hello :-)

I have currently been in Sweden for a week. I had this room tour ready to blog the day before i went but then never got enough time to post it up before i left. Feels good to be back as i have missed posting on my blog!

I love to look at room Interior and have had a few requests to do mine before.

It took me a while to get around to it though as I get fussy with things and usually like it to be perfect.
Plus my room is rarely tidy and I need a tidy room when doing a room tour! :-)

So this was a good thing as it pushed me to tidy up!
There are still things I would like to change, I don't think it would ever get to 'The Perfect Room'...
but then if I did keep waiting I would never get around to doing this!

So this is the view from the door as you enter my room, do ignore the mess under the bed...but yes that is where i shove most my mess lol ;-)

I did purposely light all my candles and put the lights on for the sake of this post, to give it a nice cosy feel :-)
Set Of Drawers: Argos | Fairy Lights: Christmas shop in Bluewater
Hellloooo..... #MirrorSelfie
